Palash (Practice Head): We dig deep. We don’t just screen for knowledge of Python or Django. We want developers who think holistically — who understand how data flows, how security plays out, and how systems scale. Most candidates today are keyword-heavy — they’ll ace an ATS but struggle in real-world problem-solving. So we ask them questions that uncover how they think, not just what they know.

Ankur: Red flags?

Palash: Candidates who can’t think beyond libraries. If you can’t explain how you’d handle stock depletion in an e-commerce cart, you haven’t built real systems. Or if you can’t walk me through implementing a Singleton and why it mattered in your project — we move on. We’re not looking for textbook answers. We’re looking for real developers who’ve done real work.

Amit: And we often catch this in how they test. Do they plan for edge cases? Handle failures gracefully? Write maintainable code? All these things reveal maturity.
